| Built in 1998 by Vittoria Naval Shipyard, Adria – Italy for the Civil Protection Department similar to the SAR launches in service with the Italian Coast Guard. The vessels were transferred to the Maritime Squadron, in May 1999 due to the fact that the Armed Forces of Malta is the competent national SAR agency in Malta. The two vessels underwent mid-life upgrade works between April and July 2011. |
